Who I am
As an Registered Provisional Psychologist, I strive to create a non-judgemental, validating space for individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions. I use an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from therapeutic models that foster strength, acceptance, and change such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, emotion dysregulation, ADHD, Autism, and trauma. The majority of my experience is with adolescents and young adults, but I welcome individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
As a BIPOC therapist of Korean and Chinese heritage, I am passionate about providing anti-oppressive, culturally-sensitive therapy for people who have experienced discrimination or racial trauma and have a special interest in working with Asian and Indigenous populations. I am a strong believer that your identity is inseparable from your experiences. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative relationship, which is why I approach therapy from a place of safety, curiosity, and honesty.
In my spare time, you can find me spending time with my husband and our four cats! My office is filled with tokens from my favourite video games, manga, and television shows, and I am always excited to hear when my clients can recognize any of their favourites!
My Approach
I take a collaborative and relational approach to therapy, recognizing that healing and growth often occur within the context of a safe, consistent, and trusting therapeutic relationship. Many clients choose to engage in longer-term therapy which can allow for deeper self-understanding, greater emotional insight, and meaningful, sustained change over time.
In sessions, I strive to show up genuinely and invite you to do the same, fostering meaningful connection within the therapeutic relationship. I find immense value in holding space for both your most challenging moments, and the picture of the sweater you bought your dog for Christmas!
My Specialties
My work is largely grounded in supporting individuals from marginalized and minority communities, and this deeply shapes the lens I bring to therapy. My therapeutic perspective is informed by feminism, multiculturalism, and intersectionality, recognizing how systems of power, oppression, identity, and lived experience intersect and impact mental health. I strive to create a space that actively acknowledges these realities rather than minimizing or individualizing them. I am 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming, polyamory and ethical non-monogamy affirming, and sex worker-friendly. My goal is to offer care that honors each person’s autonomy, identities, and experiences, while fostering safety, dignity, and collaboration in the therapeutic process.
My Values
My work is guided by values such as authenticity, connection, gratitude, respect, and collaboration, as well as a deep care for the broader social and systemic contexts that shape our lives. I aim to be open and transparent, regularly checking in about pace, depth, and what feels most helpful, and I welcome ongoing feedback as an important part of the work. It is common for goals and priorities to shift over time and I am always more than happy to adjust with you.
